Jayne here.

Sister of Pribek.

Sounds a bit Medievael, doesn’t it?

Wandering brain aside, the Jack of this blog called a few minutes ago. His plans for the Fret Logic Ark have been drawn up, and as soon as he’s had his 30th cup of coffee (with chickory, mind you) he’ll get to work on that Flood Repellant Boat.

Jack’s been without an internet connection for four days (bet you figured that out already, didn’t you?). He’s having worse withdrawals than when he stopped abusing the nicotine. Okay… maybe he didn’t say that. However, his internet has gone AWOL SNAFU. He’s been working on the problem, but it’s proving to be more elusive than a cooperative mouse.

I had hoped to bring up some sort of story to rival the SECRET of mine that he revealed long time back on my blog, but… bit difficult when you don’t have photographic proof. I’m a bit lacking there, it seems.

On that note, let me do this instead. Jack picks out some great musical finds, so here are two of my favorites. The first is Papillon. Excellent movie, superb music.

Player in the sidebar, don’t forget to pause it before listening.

Very recently, I started a new category called “BlogNod”.

What is a BlogNod?
From time to time, I feel the urge to point out the blogging efforts of somebody who I know is on to something. Heretofore, when I do this sort of grass roots promotion of somebody whom I think deserves your worthy attention, it will be known as a BlogNod.

Today the BlogNod goes to Roots Music.

Roots Music is a brand spanking new, start up blog conceived and written by a friend of mine who is knowledgeable, and sincere about genuine music, musicians, guitars and all things related.

I strongly urge you to go over there and get the dialog kick started.

By the way, you may have seen this…

..lurking about lately. A while ago, I had a conversation with Pat Darnell about a theory that I have. Over the years, I have noticed a clear connection between musicians (guitar players in particular) and a thought process that goes far beyond music talk and enters the realm of real, accessible philosophy. Pat came up with this original artwork as a result of that conversation.

So, when I feel the urge to point out evidence of that guitar/life philosophy/logic connection, I will use this image as a sort of mile marker.

And, if any of you find yourselves calling attention to examples of “Fret Logic”, feel free to use this artwork to signify. I’m sure Pat would be delighted if you did.

“To me, all guitar players can play, because I know they’re getting to where they’re at. It’s a very hard instrument to accept, because it takes years to start working with it, that’s first, and it looks like everybody else is moving on the instrument but you. Then when you find a cat that’s really playing, you always find that he’s been playing a long time, you can’t get around it.”
