If by chance, you have just stumbled upon this quiz, you must be aware that the contest portion is over. The Grand Prize is no longer offered and sadly, there was no winner. Due to the violent reactions and the threatening nature of comments from some of the losers, I had no choice other than to publish the answers. If you wish to test yourself with the quiz, feel free. The answers do not appear on this page. They are in the comment section-#11.
I was glancing at the FT website, as I often do whilst having coffee, and I saw this piece from last week, “Obama and the art of empty rhetoric“, by Gideon Rachman. You should read it. It inspired me to come up with this little quiz.
Here’s how it works. There are four quotes, pieces of rhetoric. There are four pictures of famous speakers. Simply match the quote with the speaker. I have the answers held securely and safely within the confines of the impenetrable fortress of the rhetoric friendly Winnebago.
If you are the grand prize winner, I will buy you a Mango Fizzy, Barley Pop, or even a shot of Old Rottweiler the next time you come to one of my gigs.
Good luck and no wagering please.
