It really doesn’t surprise me that Johnny Rotten would take the money for pimping a dairy product. What is sort of surprising and, only because I remember first hand the way his image was presented initially, that he is now mainstream enough, safe enough or enough of a self parody to be considered as a product spokesman.

Let’s see, when we last discussed John Lydon, he was putting forth the idea of working with Britney Spears. Lydon, came off as sympathetic, almost fatherly in tone. It was touching.

Sex Pistols star John Lydon has expressed a desire to work with Britney Spears – claiming he can help the singer overcome her personal problems.

“I haven’t written a song for Britney yet but I would love to,” Lydon told the Sun newspaper.

“I’d like to help out because there’s a girl who needs some help,” he added

Today, Billboard reports that Lydon is being sued for sexual harassment and assault.

Sex Pistols singer Johnny Rotten has been charged in a civil lawsuit filed in Los Angeles with beating a woman during the taping of a reality TV show.

Roxane Davis, an assistant producer on “Bodog Battle of the Bands,” that featured Rotten, 52, said the former punk rocker hit her because he didn’t like the hotel room he was given.

The alleged aggression in January 2007 did not lead to criminal charges, but Davis is suing Rotten, whose real name is John Lydon, for sexual harassment and assault.

To be fair, Lydon may go to court and clear his name of the harassment and assault charges. He may even disprove that he was being whiny about a his hotel room. But, one thing troubles me, one thing is not going to go away.

Gigwise is reporting that John Lydon would like a shot at working with Britney Spears.

Sex Pistols star John Lydon has expressed a desire to work with Britney Spears – claiming he can help the singer overcome her personal problems.

“I haven’t written a song for Britney yet but I would love to,” Lydon told the Sun newspaper.

“I’d like to help out because there’s a girl who needs some help,” he added.

Lydon said that he believed Spears had been “hurt” over recent years and that “hurt is the root core essence of good music.”

You know what, it doesn’t matter. If they were to collaborate, it would be spectacle but, it could also be a great record. You may think I’m joking but, I’m not. Lydon has a good point when he says, “hurt is the root core essence of good music.”
