Miles had some heavy friends.
I got on a Miles thing around dinner time, listening at MOG. Be Bop stuff with Parker, the cool, “Sketches”, “Brew” and “Jack Johnson”, all the way through to the end; randomly.
It’s an interesting way to go about it because it really emphasizes the different periods or eras. But, it also brings home the evolution and common threads.

A remarkable undertaking really. I mean, it would be an impressive feat for someone to transcribe a Miles Davis solo and vocalize those notes. But, to then write lyrics to the melody that have some depth is far more more impressive.
