Hmmm….you know, I never have done any D.O.D. or USO gigs Pat. The D.O.D. thing came up several times years ago but, I got to tell you I heard plenty of horror stories from guys who did take some of those gigs. It seems that there were some unscrupulous promoters who were sub-contracting entertainment and, well I and a lot of others I knew, were wary. But, that was quite a while back so, I don’t know what the situation is currently.
I looked into the USO shows a few years back on behalf of a fairly well known artist. Evidently, he wasn’t well known enough because they told me they were booked solid with the Toby Keith’s of the world.
Antarctica! There’s one I haven’t done. Fall Out Boy is going to play in Antarctica. Again from the incredibly slow loading and generally crappy MTV site.
Pete Wentz: There’s plenty I don’t know about Antarctica — like do they have a Starbucks or a McDonald’s there? Or any kind of restaurant? Is there a local Antarctic beer? — so hopefully you can help.
Yeah Pete, there’s a real nice micro-brewery/sushi-deli over by the mall. Wow! I just did a hyphen slash hyphen there. En Fuego!
Anyway, I am fascinated by Antarctica and would love to go but, I would rather take the camera than the Tele.
