Tradition says, that springtime in the Ozarks officially starts when the dogwoods bloom.

Old-timers will, without fail, get a little glint in the eyes if they hear; “I saw a few dogwoods starting to come out, this morning”.

Long before “Tourism”, “Entertainment”, and “Recreation” were the “revenue streams”, it was tough to make it through the winter on this hard land.

And, the dogwood’s bloom was cause for celebration.
