It has come to my attention that my little blog has built a respectable amount of traffic. Not huge, but pretty good. Actually, that was a reason for the recent server move.
When I started writing this blog (July, 2006), a lot of people gave me great advice about how to build traffic. The one thing that kept coming up was, “content”. Unfortunately the rest of the advice had to do with concentrating on a particular subject matter and such and, I figured that I would have a hard time with that. So, I just started writing about anything that crossed my mind.
Anyway, the server people pointed out that one reason for my traffic is the amount of content and the fact that a lot of people are reading archive posts that appear in web searches.
This is post # 996 and, to date there have been 3,471 comments on those posts.
A while back, I had an idea that if I ever developed enough traffic, instead of selling ad space like most blogs, I would prefer to have a single sponsor. In a perfect world, somebody who had a good product or service, would notice not only the number of eyeballs looking in but, also recognize the quality of the regular readers.
