Here is an article about the new trend in nightclubs; inviting patrons to show off their Guitar Hero and Rock Band skills as the the game’s sound is pumped through the house system and the graphics are displayed on big video screens.

It got me thinking and maybe somebody has already tried this; why not have karaoke for guitar players? I mean real guitars. Have a good sounding rig on stage, some tracks of familiar songs, with the solo spots left open, and players could take turns having a whack at their fave tunes. For that matter, you could do it with other instruments as well. Instrument karaoke.
