My internet connection is back. Last night, after driving home from the gig and laying in the bunk sleepless and listening to the cricket symphony in surround sound, it dawned on me that I might try something on my end. See, when the problem first occurred, I re-installed my receiver software. It came to me that there was a little trick involved that I might have missed. This morning, I un-installed, re-installed, re-booted and zippingwah, I’m back on. Nobody told me that it was up but, that’s OK.

In the interim, with no TV and no Web, my entertainment has consisted mainly of reading. Thursday, I stopped at the Christian Associates thrift store and picked up three books. “On the Road”, “A Brave New World’ (both of which, I’ve never read but always intended to because so many friends have) and a Webster’s Dictionary because, I got stumped a few times while reading the Eric Hoffer (“The True Believers”); lots of “ists’ and ‘isms” in there. the Kerouac and Huxley were a quarter apiece and the dictionary was fifty cents. The dictionary is useless though, no “ists’ and ‘isms”.

Anyway, Thursday night, I started reading both “On the Road” and “A Brave New World’. I made it half way through both. That’s a pretty wild ride.
